About Jackie
I was born in South-End-On-Sea in England and came
to Canada when I was three-years-old. Growing up in
subdivisions, there was always something inside of me
that longed for the country. I've always had a huge
love for animals and they have become a big part of
my life. Having had many pets growing up, I still
have continued that in my adult life and could never
imagine not having them around. I also volunteer
when I can with different animal organizations and
have made many friends in animal rescue.
Other than a few odd jobs here and there, I've
always worked in public oriented business offices
in different roles. Two of my favorite jobs were
secretary for two deputy directors in Corrections
and then working for two fabulous managers at
Worker's Compensation Board on a contract basis
for two terms. When you work for wonderful people
who you respect and enjoy, people who are
appreciative of the work you do, you tend to
work harder and will do anything to support those
people and their business. I also know what it is
like to work for companies that have horrible work
environments and this is what led me to branch out
on my own.
Having over 18 years of typing, word processing and
dicta-phone transcription experience, I was so excited
to learn about all this new technology which has now
brought us digital audio files and the ability to
live and work from anywhere. I started out by
subcontracting through other transcription companies
to gain some experience (which I will always be learning
as technology changes), and it was not long before I
realized that this was something I really enjoyed and
loved the benefits of working from home.
This was the best thing that ever happened to me!
Being a private contractor really suits my personality
as I have control over the type of work I do, the
companies I work with and I am able to follow my desire
of making excellent working relationships for both parties.
Because of my strong work ethic, my clients never have
to worry if their projects will be returned on time as
I will always be committed to each assignment and work
the necessary hours and days to ensure they are completed
on time. I will never take on more than I can handle.
It wasn't long after I started my transcription business that
I realized this was the direction I wanted to go. I sold my
house and moved to a rural area
in the South Cariboo region of beautiful British Columbia
with my critters in tow. I truly enjoy what I'm doing
and I'm extremely happy about being able to work from
home and live the life I've always dreamed of. With
this kind of motivation behind me to keep this business
going, you can be assured that I will provide the best
quality of work possible to secure long lasting working
relationships with my clients.
